Recently, a batch of energy-saving transformers meeting the national Level 1 energy efficiency standard have been installed, commissioned and put into use in industrial parks in multiple regions, marking that China's energy-saving upgrading of power equipment has entered a large-scale advancement stage. Adopting new-type iron core materials and optimized winding structures, these transformers reduce energy loss by more than 30% compared with traditional equipment, with a single unit saving up to several thousand kilowatt-hours of electricity annually.
Industry data shows that as core power transmission equipment, transformers account for about 5% of the total social electricity consumption. The promoted energy-saving transformers this time can not only significantly reduce enterprises' electricity costs but also reduce carbon emissions. Taking a large manufacturing enterprise as an example, after replacing 20 energy-saving transformers, it is expected to save more than 80,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by over 70 tons annually.
Relevant departments stated that they will introduce special subsidy policies in the next step to promote the renewal and transformation of old and outdated transformers, and at the same time guide enterprises to increase R&D investment in energy-saving equipment to help achieve the "dual carbon" goals. Industry experts believe that the wide application of energy-saving transformers will provide important support for the green transition of industry.
